ABOUT US

Fellowship INDY is central Indiana’s best environment to make gay friendships. Meeting continuously since 1977, we are Indiana's oldest and largest gay men's social organization.

Members are single and coupled gay men who enjoy pleasant conversations with engaging people at interesting homes with fine food. We are all about making friendships. The dinners are an opportunity to reconnect with friends, and meet new people. Some of our members, past and present, have been or are leaders in the gay community.  Since we serve alcohol all attendees are adults over 21.

In every way Fellowship embraces gay pride. We affirm our sexuality; live out our compassion; and heal our wounds through building friendships based on trust, mutual support, and fun.

Our primary activity is holding pitch-in dinners -- once a month, typically Saturday night. We also try to have a weekend pool party in the summer plus a Winter Cocktail Party. Dinners take place in member's homes and in clubhouses located in the Indianapolis metropolitan area. Usually 20 to 50 members attend each event.

An essential component of our ability to have these parties is having willing hosts. With only about 12+ events a year, not everyone is expected or able to host a party at their home or association clubhouse. Typically, new hosts will have come regularly for at least a year before hosting. Hosts need to have a space that can accommodate up to 50 people.  Most of the hosts like it so much that they repeat it yearly.

The directors reserve the right to protect the organization and its membership for cases of flagrant disrespect of people or hosts' houses by admonishing, suspending, and deleting offenders.

O U R C O R E V A L U E S

  • FELLOWSHIP INDY is largely a gay community with bisexual members, too.

  • Men join Fellowship as both singles and couples. Singles who find “significant others” commonly continue on as members as a couple.

  • Fellowship Indy truly welcomes men from all races and nationalities.

  • Originally, Fellowship Indy was loosely associated with a church. But for 43+ years there is no religious connection. In fact, we are people of many faiths and spiritualities — and none.

  • Membership is confidential and is not sold or given out to any person or organization.

  • As guests in members’ houses, we enjoy the areas opened for the occasion and respect the private areas of the home.

  • We strive to welcome our newest members and visitors. Our New Member Officers will contact you as part of our Intentional Welcoming efforts.

  • We are not politically orientated. Our struggle, though, has been one of Civil Rights, which plays itself out in the political sphere. You’ll find the full range of political opinion here.

  • We don’t allow smoking indoors. We ask that you smoke outside and dispose of your butts in the trash, not the lawn.

  • If you have special needs, please talk with an Officer, or contact us via this website BEFORE the next meeting, to determine if we can meet that accommodation.
